I stand there waiting

Watching, breathing, and waiting

My outfit feels concealing and tight

But it helps me get into character

The crowd is a frightening sight

But occasionally I see a smile

My fellow uniform wearers seem tense

Our time has come to perform

As we walk, the fear becomes intense

We get into formation on the floor

“Ladies, your music is ready”

I try to make my heart beat steadily

The music starts and my mind becomes swirled

My team and I momentarily dance to another world.
