Mike Ross is one of the new math teachers here at Centaurus this year. Right out of high school, Ross went into the Navy and wound up doing nuclear energy stuff and became interested in physics which he majored in at the University of Texas in Austin.
Ross said, “Physics has a lot of math in it so if you wanna do physics you have to do math. So I just grew to love math and I just think it’s nice to see parts of the world that make sense and I think mathematics is one of those things.”
Ross enjoys doing a lot of activities outside of school like fly fishing, mountain biking, and hanging out with his three kids which he plans to take skiing for the first time this upcoming winter.
Ross shared his thoughts of the Centaurus math program, “I think its fantastic all the other math teachers here are incredibly supportive and very professional so yeah I’m enjoying it so far.”
